Whooooo!!! Holidays!!!

Wow, I haven't looked at my youtube channel for well over 5 months!! Except to answer the occasional private massages. I didn't think I would get so into my studies haha

Well, its only my 2nd day of holidays and I've started working on a few projects. I started making cat beds for my darling kitties because since my parents got a dog, the dog gets his own bed and gets to sleep inside!! So when my cats come inside to chill, they only have the hardwood floor to sleep on :(

I was kind of making up the patterns as I went along... it didn't turn out how I wanted. So I just ended up giving them just a rectangle mat each to sit on. They LOVED it though!! Haha, my babies are so simple!

Now I'm trying to figure out how to make this accessory for pets. I don't want to give too much away about it but hopefully it works!

Just another update, thats all.

I'd like to release another tutorial before my next semester of studies start again... but we will see if everything works out!

Square Case

Hi Awesome followers!

I've been away for so long! I wish I was always creative and inventive so I can constantly churn out tutorials for you all! But unfortunately, I'm just and average person who only gets inspired by random things I happen to pass by!

Sometimes I'd be sitting in my church during sermon and an idea would suddenly hit me! Like the time I thought of a great way to place an air freshner in the car without making the interior look ugly... (hard to describe but it was a cool idea). Or even out eating dinner with my boyfriend, just sitting there staring at napkins and BAM! I come up with some unique way of using your soap and a shower puff... (hard to explain too... maybe I should draw pictures haha)!

But then I'd go onto google or etsy and see if someone has already come up with these ideas. A high percentage of the time a similar idea has already been created. Like that air freshener idea, Audi has already released a concept on their website. Not exactly how I imagined it... but a billion times better! Damn, could have been a millionaire if I came up with it long ago haha!! Joke joke!

And even the soap+shower puff idea, there turned out to be a thing called a "soap saver" made by crocheting. Pretty close to what I had imagined, but I think it works better than what I came up with.

So... mega sigh...

I know I'm very picky when it comes to tutorials. I kind of want things to be close to perfect before I show anything. And I dislike repeating tutorials what are already out there unless I have my own version of doing things.

So anyway, my notebook is just full of sketches and notes on things I'd like to create and incorporate into my designs or stuff I make. So I am still thinking of making Himehood tutorials, its just time and the fact that 90% of the stuff I-think-that-I-am-so-amazing-by-coming-up-with-a-totally-cool-idea are actually already created and results me in sad face.

Ok too much blah blah.

I cleaned out my room in preparation for the new study period and just found stacks of unused fabric and junk.

So while waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up, I hopped on the machine and just threw together what ever I happened to like from the junk pile...

Ended up making some awkward square pencil case:

I think it looks cool. And it fits my calculator too!

I used some sort of denim star print fabric for lining. I hate it when your pens and pencils pierce the thin lining inside your pencil case and then theres the hole in there that your erasers and what nots manage to climb into then get lost in between the outside fabric and the lining and you rumage around in there, you can feel it but you just can't reach it!!!!!!!!!!!!

NYAYAAAAA!!!

So that is why my lining is made of tough fabric.

I did my own version of this Mickey Mouse plush hat:

I has taken me a while to get around to and after reading the entry from Universal Doll about current bear ear trends, I was motivated to make it!

I cost me around $20AUD to make the whole thing. Not as cute as the picture above... maybe you have some tips to give me!

Oh and I re-uploaded my phone charm tutorial for those who have been asking about it.

How embarrassing, there are ads on my video about losing weight...

And I want to take this chance to say that I have missed you guys!

Ideas and designs don't come around regularly haha! I usually have to be reading something or be inspired by something I see

Anyway, I'm almost reaching 10,000 subscribers! Yay!

But its not all about the views and subscription. Its about sharing my ideas and creations with you and letting you try it for yourself.

As long as you are all watching me for that reason then I am more than satisfied.

This is a little instruction on how I pulled apart a pocket watch in order to use it as a container for the solid perfume

If you would like smaller amounts, why not try a locket? Like those heart lockets you store photos in and wear on your neck?

Anyway!

I bought this one on etsy.com. Because I knew I was going to pull it apart, I thought it be best if I bought a cheap one. So I searched up "pocket watch" and selected the "lowest price" option.
When picking them, make sure you know the size. Some of the really cheaper ones are tiny little sizes, unless you want that size!

I waited 2 week for mine to arrive from China.

Perfect size! 40mm radius. And I paid $7 USD.

1) Press the button at the top (remember this part of the watch, it is important!! THE BUTTON!). The button opens up the front cover.

2) Here I took what ever tool was nearby and smashed the hell out of the watch face. This is why you wanted a cheap one because the watch will be of no use here! Anyway, the plastic cover should break up and you can take it off.

3) After, I turned the watch around and used a flat head screw driver to pry it open. Mine had a small groove where you can place the screw driver and lift it open.
When that was done, I just pulled everything out; smashed up all the insides and snapped the rod that was used to change the time. Normally I'd give it to a toddler, they destroy things in seconds... but I wouldn't want it choking on anything!

4) Remember this button? Well its a THICKER rod than the 'time changer' one - or whatever you call it.
Here I super glued down that round thing around it. So just glue down that bit without getting any glue on the rod. You still need it to be able to press down to release the front cover.

Hopefully you have everything correct here. If not, I'm really sorry! My instructions are horrible!

Now clip back in the back cover and there you have an empty pocket watch case!

If you glued it correctly, when you push the button down the cover should pop right open like normal!

This would also be a nice way to store homemade lip balm. Maybe if you're careful enough you can glue in a small fitting mirror onto the inside of the front cover.

Solid Perfume: where to find the ingredients!

I remember walking into a beauty store and seeing a stick of solid perfume. I thought it was the best idea in the world! Too bad it was in a gift pack along with some other junk I didn't need.

I jumped onto the net and looked up various recipes. The one I used in my tutorial was probably the most basic way to make them. There are plenty of other way to make solid perfume, it just depends on if you want to spend that much on extra ingredients or have the equipments available!

Believe it or not, the trickiest bit of making this was actually finding the ingredients!!

I spent a good 3 days researching where they sell beeswax and essential oils in my area!

Beeswax:
I found a great ebayer who sold beeswax so that was out of the way. Be sure when buying that its ok with customs. You're better off buying within your country.

Oils:
I could have also bought the essential oils online or on ebay as well, but what if I didn't like it after I've paid for and received it? I mean if this is the scent I am going to wear, I HAVE to like it!

Try before you buy!!

So, I went down to the market and discovered a natural health store. They had barrels of essential oils to choose from! And they only sell you a few mils of them for $12 to $25. Yes, very expensive!

One night I went out to my major department store. Myers to be exact. I went through the make up section and found an aromatherapy corner.

OMG!! HEAVEN!! There all lined up were a whole range of essential oils and bottles of sweet almond oils!

Essential oils can also be used as massage oils (once diluted) so I'm sure if you know of anywhere that sells massage oils they would have them there!

DO NOT MISTAKE FRAGRANT OIL WITH ESSENTIAL OIL!!

Fragrant oil is for burning and not be used on the skin!

I know there are perfume oils but they were too pricey for me. I'm not so sure if perfume oils work the same when mixed with wax...

After I got everything, I spent a lot of time practicing and perfecting the methods.

First time I made it, I didn't put enough oils and there was too much wax in the mixture. The mixture hardened and it didn't glide. It was like a block of hard wax that smelt really nice!

So this video was about my third attempt.

I think that is all for now... I feel there is more to address but my head is blank!

OH YEAH!

If you've messed up, you can always melt it again and add any extra what-ever-it-is that you're missing.

Hey girls! ... Guys... EVERYONE!

New video is in editing process. While that is waiting, I thought it would be best to give you a heads up about what to expect in the times to come!

First of all let me thank you all for your patience and support!

I can't believe all the waiting I make you all do for the next videos!

Its like my videos are some sort of holiday that only happens once a year!!

Second of all I have to say that more waiting may happen as I am working 2 jobs and studying! Weird thing is, I thought I would be all stressed out and going coo-coo for not having enough time for myself or to do things I like... but I am enjoying both of these jobs soooo much I'd ask for more hours if I could! HAHAHAHA!!

So I only get a good total of 5 hours a week where the home is empty and for me to squeeze in a new tutorial (provided my studies are done... yeah right!) for you guys. I have a boyfriend too so I can't neglect him!

But its all good. Every week is planned out so when I see a good opportunity to work on new tutorials I will be on it!

While I am talking about videos, I do know a lot of my "old supporters" have been wanting to see "funny" videos again (I swear I'm not funny, I know you're laughing AT me!!). I just like to pay people and things out. But in recent times I have had a lot of ideas for those kinds of videos. So... YES! I am considering doing short comedic movies once in a while the only thing stopping me (besides 5 hr/week free time) is finding someone near me willing to act with me.

I could do a MyChonny, Bubbiosity, Community Channel and a Shane Dawson and act out all the parts myself but it wouldn't be as funny... because its me... =(

I hope to find someone who can collab, but even better: is able to meet up and shoot with me!

Haha, if I could contact My Chonny and fly over and we can both rock the pyjama pants, that would be awesome! Although Shane Dawson would be perfect for my current idea.

But I think I'm aiming a bit high haha! I'm not even as good as those guys! >.<

Till I find someone to help me out, it would be more Himehood tutorials for now!

How to make Kigurumi

Hi ladies!

Remeber YEARS ago I said I would get around to making a how to make a Kigurumi

Yeah... like... GANGURO days??

It has been years now! But even though it may not be popular street wear anymore... nor should it have been in the first place! It would be great for lounging around at home or for a fun when staying over your friend's house!

So sitting here tonight, I remembered that I was going to show you how to make one. I made a batch of 6 children size ones for a play. They were all sheep and cow ones! I couldn't do a video on that because then none of you grown up girls would have been able to fit the measurements! And I think the mums would have felt weird about me filming too haha!!

ANYWAY! Gosh I type too much!

I found this GREAT video on youtube on how to make them!

So, I won't be making my video on this since there is no point having two videos with the exact same techniques haha!! Besides, I think these girls did really well and deserve more views for their hard work!

Making a Scrunchy Belt and a little bitch session

Just a quick note if you want to save when making this.

As you all may know, I have been fairly irritated and annoyed with my local fabric store. It is one of those major retailers and suppliers of crafting and sewing stuff, so everyone goes there to buy stuff and they jack up the prices so ridiculously because people don't know where else to go that is a cheaper option.

If I wanted a cheaper option, I'd have to drive an hour to a massive warehouse-kind-of place run by Vietnamese people. Which I actually would rather do that now.

Yes, bitch bitch blah blah.

To my point.

Lets compare prices of this major store to this run-down cheapo Asian store (in terms of making a belt):

Major Store
Fabric $10 per meter
Thick elastic $12 per meter
Clasp $9 each
Total: $31

Asian Store
Fabric $6 per meter
Thick elastic $7 per meter
Clasp $4 each
Total: $17

Wow, I am really disappointed in major retailers. Greedy people.

The thing about the Asian store is you have to be very stern with them. Because their prices are so low, they try to make you buy more than you actually need.

The little Vietnamese lady was really trying to make me buy more elastic. I told her I knew what I was doing but she really insisted I buy more and gave really lame reasons.

But even if I did buy those few extra centimeters, my total still would not have added up to that ridiculous amount from the major store!

To think I almost spent $30 to MAKE my own belt when I could just buy it!!

(Mind you, I made two belts with all I bought from the Asian store, so $8.50 each!!)

Isn't the point of making your own clothes and accessories meant to be because it is cheaper than buying from store?

I don't know, I feel like I'm beginning a campaign to lower prices in fabric stores to encourage more creativity and individuality.

Haha... sewing... homemade... now I sound like a hippie.

Anyway, my point is, research before you buy.

Look up your phone book and see what other stores are around and go and have a look to see if they're cheaper.

Make Healthy Sweet Tea

Sorry for sounding like an infomercial! I have to script the things I say because I can’t talk on the spot; I generally tend to wander off onto unrelated topics and forget what I was talking about!

I’m just typing up the rest of my findings as I suck at explaining things verbally.

So, according to several resources PURE honey is a better replacement for sugar in tea as it contains vitamins and minerals – these nutrients that are essential to help you dissolve fats and cholesterols.

I’ve only just started adding honey to my tea so we will just see if this really works or not.

But really, add honey for the sweet and smooth taste! The weight loss (if any) would be a nice bonus for me!

I feel that homemade tea, using honey as a sweetener, goes down a lot smoother than bottled tea from the shops. Not to mention how much cheaper it is! $3.95 for a bottle of tea that leaves an icky aftertaste? Or less than 50cents for a cup or two of healthy, smooth, delicious homemade tea of your favourite flavour?

Oh yeah, another alternative can be syrup too!

With all that said, it doesn’t mean you can go and sweeten your tea with massive scoops of honey. Remember this: honey is a form of sugar!! You’re best of getting used to consuming tea on its own; so just gradually reduce the amount of honey each time you drink!

I made it to match this dress:but also stuck by her request of having a bit of black on them too.

The dress has a glittery tube top section on it so I used glittery silver hearts to match.

Quilted Therapy Pillow Case

My boyfriend and I recently bought therapy pillows. I tell you, I am sleeping SO well now!!

Its pretty hard, however, to find pillow cases for these... especially when the shape is not a typical rectangle shape!

I chose a nice, pink quilted fabric for my case and silk for the sides.

I had a long rectangle piece for the front and back and for the sides I traced around the curvy shape on the side of the pillow. (Remembering to leave 1 to 2 cms for sewing!)

Basically when you sew the rectangle parts to the sides, the rectangle will just take shape with the curves of the sides anyway.

Easy peasy!

I sealed the opening with a fancy button and elastic.

Classy Bow Ring

Rings have become a popular seller in my shop!

I also had a few requests from my friends and my friend's friend for bow rings too!!

Scrunch/puff

I don't normally do this, but I have a bit of spare time at this moment!

A viewer asked how to create a "puffy" look similar to the images below:
She made it seem like an emergency so I think making a video would have taken too long!! HAHA!!

So I quickly drew up how I would have done this!

There are two ways to go about it.

I messed up the order, so I will explain option 2 first as it applies to option 1.

Option 2: to cut out three pieces (small, medium and large pieces) and as you're sewing, push the fabric together (or "scrunch") under the foot/needle plate of the sewing machine.

You're going to sew those pieces on top of each other to create the layered look. (Line up the top if that makes sense?)

The order to sew would be small, medium then large.

Option 1: As with option 2, instead you sew the middle and large pieces onto a shorter piece of fabric (which would still have enough room for you to fit into as a skirt).

Then! After you have sewn and scrunched the small layer, add the middle layer then large layer without scrunching as you have already done so on the short pieces previously.

These techniques have different outcomes. Option 2 results in the ruffles get wider at the bottom whereas using option 1, you get even looking layers.

Different results but not so obvious!

If you're still confused, take out a ruffle skirt that you own and have a look at how it is done. Turn it inside out, check out the stitching... and if it is old and unwanted, pull it apart to see how they cut the fabric!

That is how I figured out how to sew... I must have been one bored kid!

Lace Gloves

My dance group has to dress semi formal for our next performance. I remembered seeing a pair of lace gloves in the shops and thought I could make an attempt at making a pair myself!

Now, I started tracing my hands for a template but when I had a look at my other gloves I realised the shape was a lot more square (and neater!).

I'm still trying to master it!

For now, I just used my traced hand template:

The thumb bit was really confusing! If I have time, I can attempt a tutorial.

Well, it turned out alright but only wearable on the stage where no one can see it up close!! HAHA!!

Just incase, I made a lace wrist band too!

Hoody Playsuit

Hey Girlies!

I've been busy studying and sewing a lot lately. I recently bought a whole chunk of fabric because as soon as I saw it I instantly knew it would be perfect to make a playsuit.

Do you love Juicy Couture sweat pants? The velour type of fabric?

Well that's what my playsuit is made of!

I made the playsuit on its own, but it seemed like it needed a little something more...

I know, my commitment isn't 100% there for Himehood. I've been studying a lot and I'm actually really enjoying it!

I have been sewing one item of clothing every month or so, so my stock is slowly growing but is still a fair way from being released. Keep in mind they're all size 8 Australian sizing. I don't know how to sew other sizes because I don't have any model to test it on...

Like I said, will be a while, so forget about me for a while and it will be a nice suprise when I come back!

Bubble Skirt

I bought this frumpy looking long skirt today:(TinyFidgety is my other blog.
Don't mind the watermark!)

Thought I'd made a really easy tutorial on how to turn it into a bubble skirt.

One way is to use another piece of fabric underneath, but that was way to difficult to explain.

I did the easy way: using elastic!

Cut it to the length you want (maybe a little longer because it will spring up after attaching the elastic).

I set my sewing dial to this:

While you sew the elastic on, pull it towards you so it is stretched. This way, when you release it, the fabric will spring back with it and create the "bubble" effect.

I didn't feel like hemming it up or whatever. It kind of tucks itself under the whole skirt so you can't see it anyway:

Yukie's Fullmoon website is the only nails and nail supply website that I know of that sells at a decent price. I haven't found many other good ones but I will let you all know when I find them!

I like my nails simple:

I have been sewing a bit since the holidays started, I haven't bought much fabric because the prices are so ridiculously high these days!!

The fleece fabric I use for Hime Hoodies are exceptionally high because it is currently winter. I guess they will go on sale when it is summer in Australia (and so it will be winter in the US); and from this I can sell you the hoodies at a good price.

I'm thinking of selling this dress I made but I'm too lazy to take pictures with it and I can't find a 'model'. HAHA!!

Oh yeah, my etsy shop! I cut down the prices of the earmuffs! And I am giving free shipping! I know its still a little empty and you all are waiting for clothes; I'm just not sure as to what type of clothing you are after! I know that some will buy Hime Hoodies!

Last night I stayed up trying to make shorts with suspenders. These are not for sale, they're more of a 'prototype'... my practice!

I did a lot more than go straight to this result! I tried it on like 20 times and had to cut and add all these bits and pieces to get to here!

Ear Muff

My sister came home with a new pair of ear muffs, I fiddled around with it and figured out how it was made.

I used hard wire to hold the shape and simply sewed the shapes onto the wire.

This was my first attempt:

Its one you wear around the back of your head.

Later I searched the net and realised most popular ones are the head band style ear muffs.

So, I made those too!

Took me a while to make them and my dad had to help bend the wires.

Easy Circle Skirt

The circle skirt is really cute and can be made with minimal effort! The circle allows the skirt to flare and the wavy appearance makes the wearer seem feminine and soft. The use of different patterns can also give a fun effect!

Making the skirt:

The measurements are a little confusing!

What I did was,

1) Measure from my hips down to what ever length I wanted my skirt
2) Add an extra 5 -6 inches
3) Use a string to draw your circle on your fabric (or on newspaper to use as a template while cutting)

4) Cut out the circle
5) Cut out about a 5 or 6 inches diameter circle in the centre

6) Hem the bottom of the skirt and the top (may be complicated, you may have to overlap the fabric on the inside)
7) Add strips on the inside to hold the elastic (once again, you may need to fold over the strip to go with the curve of the circle)

8) Thread elastic through and join at ends

Mine turned out alright, but of course this tutorial is for a very easy circle skirt for those who have no clue on the basics. If yours turned out a little worse than mine, you can still wear it but just hide the elastic with a belt or under your shirt!

I don't own any belts... I think I should...

Hime Camera Deco

I had to buy two deco-den sets from Yukie because my sister wanted the same set too!

My sister's phone with my hand made phone charm!

And now for the camera makeover!

I've been watching many deco videos and have noted down a few useful steps:
1) Start with main features first e.g. big heart or rose
2) Add the border
3) Fill in with bigger pearls or gems then fill with medium sized as much as you can
4) Fill in the gaps with the smallest pearls or gems

If you add the border first, you won't have room to add the main features and it will look cluttered inside the border.

If you add the border last, it will look wonky because you have to move around the pearls or gems that are already there!

I used some all purpose glue by 'Bond' (I think). If you're not using the actual Japanese glue usually other glues get everywhere but once your object is cluttered with pretty stuff, you'd barely notice any glue!

Puffy Baby Doll Dress (Smock Top)

I made this dress today!

I put it on after sewing and it seemed as I needed to add elastic or a belt to gather at the waist.
So I added some elastic around the waist!

I dedicate this dress to my inspiration, Gal Sone!

I love her quarter sleeve 'smock' dress! So cute! And a good way to cover your big belly after a big meal!!

I followed the 'pattern' from "Clothes Without Patterns" by Fay Morgan but did my own variation of it.

How I sewed my version:

1. Curl bottom parts
2. Tie hair in high ponytail (to the side or in the middle)
3. Curl any straight bits
4. Bring hair forward
Optional: Pull down sides and curl / pin back fringe
5. Spray and decorate

Last time I bought from her, the postman stamped my parcel and at the same time cracked the nails inside. During one of our conversations, I told her about the cracked nails and she was really apologetic even though it wasn't her fault! So, this time around she packed them in this plastic thing. I didn't mean to make her feel bad! (ﾉ_<｡)* I was just stating how the postman was careless!! She's too nice!

*The free set was an extra for me for being a regular customer, not because of the cracked nail incident!*

Giant Bow

A little trend I've been seeing quite often is the giant bow sitting on the head!

First time I noticed it was on Tsubasa thinking the look was inspired by Mini Mouse.

The more pictures I found of other models, I noticed more and more of the bow!

I think its quiet cute now!

I found a giant orange bow in my local discount store, it was meant to be a clown dress up bow! Was tempted to buy it just so I could cam-whore with it but it was orange!

Easy to make! Just follow my video on how to make a bow but make it really BIG!! I'm unsure at this point of what they used to keep the bow on, but a head band may do the trick!

This one is a bit more Lolita.

I made a mini/temporary shop on myspace.

I can't be bothered with websites anymore! They make you pay regular fees, sometimes they can't even get the 'sign up' form correct and I couldn't even fix that problem. Other sites required a credit card for approval and I don't have a credit card! Another took 2 months to approve my application by then I was too annoyed to bother with them.

I know you're all sick of chasing me around everywhere with all these sites that I promised would be my shop! I just wanted to show I am a genuine seller! And I wanted the shopping cart system for easy shopping!

So, its on myspace as I had originally planned until I find and confirm a GREAT site that I can sell properly on!

Wedding time with Uno Kanda

I love weddings! Especially at the reception when the bride comes out with her reception dress. My uncle films for weddings; so every time we have family gatherings at his house, my sister and I would go through his work DVD collection and pick out the pretty young bride (oh, so shallow we are) and watch for the reception photos (for other people's dresses) and of course how pretty the bride's dress is!

I've been on a wedding video spree, especially the videos from Japanese catwalk shows with wedding dresses.

From these, I discovered Uno Kanda. I am such a fan of her designs now!

Yes, I'm still oogling over Nicholas Kirkwood pearl platform shoes.

A few years ago, I went through a phase where I wanted to make shoes. I was tempted to even enroll into a shoe making course! We will see how successful this 'Himehood' brand goes! Ohh a brand eh?

After staring at the Jesus Diamante shoes for way too long, I've come to realise how easy it is to imitate their shoes.

I might make an attempt on imitating their style when I get my hands on plain heels. Yeah, just stick a fat bow on it and you're done! I'm joking!

I've also been wanting to make my own handbag. I know how to make a simple clutch but a handbag would be so cool!

I have so many handbag ideas in my head! I just want to make them and share them with you all!!

Any handbag making courses out there?

For those waiting on my tutorial on how to make a tube dress: I'm still looking for the right fabric! I really can't stand my local fabric shop! When I want something, they don't have it but they have other fabrics. When I go back to buy their other fabrics, they re-stock the ones I previously wanted and are out of the other ones!

I'm going to take a long trip to a big fabric warehouse tomorrow and hopefully I should find the one!

It flared out a lot and would not stay down. I wasn't sure if it looked cute or made me look pregnant! Just in case, I tied one end up to tighten it at the bottom and went out.

Paranoid online shopping

I recently did some online shopping... OMG!! AN? ONLINE SHOPPING?!?!?! Yes... I am probably the most paranoid person ever about fraud and getting ripped off!! I only bought one dress and a pair of shoes and when I received them, I felt a little ripped off... they were exactly the image shown and they fit nicely... I only felt that I paid as much as (if not more than) I would if I were to go out and buy it at a fob shop （￣へ￣）

I was quite tempted to make a few purchases but while browsing, I started to question the authenticity of the page.

It is kind of too much to explain; but to make a long story short: the process of purchasing is unlike other online stores and the layout is all over the place... and there are too many items that I like. Too good to be true?

Wow, this South Australian record heat that everyone is talking about is really slowing everything down!!

My poor boys (cats) have been sleeping on our living room floor (cool floorboards) literally ALL day for the past 3 days ε-(´・｀) My girls (guinea pigs) have been doing the same and have been munching on cucumbers and lettuce for hydration.

As for me (seeing the good side to everything), I've been feeling quite good! Sweat out all those toxins!! YEAH! Don't spend money going to saunas! Go outside!

Plus, the heat makes me go cookoo.

Hime and Hime-Kaji / Onee Hime?

I've had a person ask me the difference between Hime Gyaru wear and Hime-Kaji (Casual Princess) and also asked when is it too old to wear Hime style clothes.

I'm no expert but this is what I believe:

Hime Gyaru

You all know that Hime Gyarus wear over the top frills and lace, jewels and pearls with big puffy, curly hair; basically resembling a 'modern' 18th Century European Princess. Their style basically screams richness and royalty!!

The best example would be from Jesus Diamante:

Hime-Kaji

Hime-Kaji is much more subtle compared to normal Hime wear. It blends into normal everday wear while still giving a hint of princess. The hair is still curled but not done in such an extravagant way. This style is soft and sweet.

Best seen in La Pafait clothing range:

Both Hime and Hime-Kaji wear incorporate the glamour of a royal princess, but one is exaggerated and the other is simple!!

As for age, I've been finding videos everywhere about the older generation picking up on the Japanese youth's fashion! I'm not sure if this could be considered "Onee Hime" (older sister princess), I could be translating wrong!! But....

You're never too old!!

My friend recently came back from his trip to Japan. I don't know what you do on those kinds of business trips but he explored every single city of Japan!! I will be on one of those cool business trips one day when I complete my course!!

I was going through his albums and found this really cute photo taken in Harajuku:

It sparked something inside me to search for more street snaps from other people.

I did a lot of browsing and found a user that goes by the name "Asian Infatuation". Basically, this person really loves the natural beauty of asian women and I think he also has some interest in their fashion.

Japanese Girls' Walk (video heavy)

I randomly stumbled across some videos from the streets of Japan. The people who filmed these videos all seem to say the same thing! Japanese girls everywhere seem to walk like this!!

To be honest, I dont think its cute!! It looks so uncomfortable! I went to school with a girl who was born with 'pigeon-toed' legs, of course she grew up with it and is used to it; but I don't see how it is cute! They look like waddling ducks!

Ah... the things people do to look cute!

BUT! How cute are these two?

Skirt is a little short, but they look so cute! I wish I had a dress up twin!

I also want to try and make a dress similar to Ayumi's dress in her MV 'Days':

Kigurumi: I'm still waiting for a good roll of fabric to arrive at my local fabric store. But I think when I open up shop, I'm going to change suppliers because this place is a rip off! They charged me $7 per metre for the lace I used for the pillow case!! (Average price is $2 to $4 per metre)

I have to travel about half and hour from my house just to get cheaper lace!!

Yeah, if you think shopping is stressful; then think about setting up a shop!!

I thought setting up an online shop would be a breeze... but then you have to think about what site is trustworthy to sell from, and which site you find is cheaper to sell from (you have to pay fees for using the sites), THEN you have to think about your international customers, how much postage is, how much extra to pay with postage for sending more than one item, what to pack the item in, currency conversion *head explodes* ヽ(≧Д≦)ノ NNYYYAAA!!!

All this to show that I am not a seedy seller!!

Also as a benefit for me; I made a little note book to account for every item I create and sell (putting my accounting classes to use). My PoGo really came in handy here!!

My shop isn't open yet (sorry for keeping you in suspense!!) but here are what I may be selling so you can have a head start in chosing!!

Just a quick note: the Hime Phone Charms come in a variety of different coloured laces. They range from white to peach. And also different toned pearl chain (pink to peach to gold). It was a result of not having enough lace and pearls and running back and forth to the fabric store only to realise they didn't have the same colour or style of lace and pearl that I originally had, so I had to go with the other ones that they had （´□｀川）

SO! I am trying to figure out a system so I won't muddle up the orders!! But hey!! Each of you get one of a kind Hime Phone Charm ey??

So much to do before I open this shop!! Can you see how serious I take this?? I have to get a credit card in order to use this site for goodness sake!! I could use my parent's but I wouldn't feel like its all under my control... I'm a damn perfectionist...

My house became a farm once again today! Had my usual suspects: Kenny, Bebe, Sooky, Soap and the billions of fish in and outside of my house. Then Rocky (Thai's dog) came so my sister can babysit. I get home from work and she suggest Tony bring Hugo and his brother's dog Buddy. Hmm... eine gute idee?? NEIN!!!!!!

Dogs peeing everywhere, wrestling and knocking things over, Rocky barking at guinea pigs, Hugo slobber all over the ground, Rocky barking at Bebe, dogs pooing everywhere, Rocky drinking from the algae infested fish pond, Buddy drinking from the algae infested fish pond, Buddy trying to climb up a fence to eat Bebe, Bebe sitting on the roof provoking Buddy, smelling really strong dog farts... too much to say...

As giant as my backyard is, these guys seemed to have downsized it!

But, one amazing thing came out of today! Hugo can finally fetch!! About time there, mate!!

Compact Purse Style Mirror

My mum gave me a little compact mirror the other day; it looked like a miniature purse!! But the cover was blue and had a picture of a cat on it. I like cats but this one just wasn't my style.

Last night, I stayed up so late fiddling with it. I basically ripped it apart and rebuilt it from scratch!!

I must say, it is a little uneven here and there, but it looks cute nonetheless!!

You can see a bit of the glue here...

Well, this may be up for sale when I start up shop, unless I make a better one. If I get enough requests for it then I will make more... it will also give me a chance to practice more on it so I can improve on the glue!!

All I'm worried about at the moment with this design is the bead border, if you're really rough with it then it has a chance of breaking off!!

Married and moving

As girly as I seem, I must admit that my room looks like a guy's room! By that I meant my room is a total mess! Since Christmas and my birthday, my room has been littered with fabric and craft materials; shoes; shoes; shoes; bags; gadgets and just so many other stuff!!

Everytime I walk into my room I have a little gymnastic session to get around. Leaping and jumping about and eventually rolling on the floor... in pain...

I took Tony to Ikea yesterday, it was his first time! I made sure he had his phone on him in case I lost him during our exploaration. Knowing him, I was expecting him to lose himself in the giant place ♪ヽ(▽￣ )ﾉ/(＿△＿)ヽ( ￣▽)ﾉ "Oohh! Look at this! And this!!"

Walking through, I felt like we were a married couple shopping for new furniture for our new home hehe!!

I found so many good ideas on how to store my mess!

We found some cute cat houses!

I bought Tony's dog a dog bowl set with stand, a long rack to hang my bags on, drawers and shelf. I was so excited about my new room design!!

We got home and I still had that married couple feel while we were putting together the drawers. It was like newly weds building a kitchen!

An + Tony = The best team ever!!

(Tony, I'm not hinting anything!! Don't stress!! HAHA!!)

There are two colours of bow/roses to choose from; pink or white. Each colour is made a different style.

Can be hung in many places such as your car, on your door knob or in your cupboard to give a sweet fresh smell every time you open your door!

I am still figuring out which scent is best. I have a choice of two... We'll see...

27th December, Saturday:

Happy 21st to me! Spent the day making the scented hearts.

Tony took me to his place to cook dinner for me! He attempted my favourite 'Choo Chee' dish from Orientai, then he cooked steak and we ended up eating it with the Choo Chee sauce and it was the best!! Thai and Aussie food mix! YEAH!

Then he presented me with his homemade chocolate mousse! I love chocolate mousse! Man, I love all sweets!!

He also got me a digital mini photo frame!

A lot of dancing that night. Best part was when I was just dancing away on the stage and this guy was dancing up against me; I turned around to show I had no interest but he didn't get it. So, Tony came in to dance with me but the guy was still trying! So dumb... Then, Tony pushed in between us and fully backed him up against the wall!! The crowd was laughing so much! Maybe I will make a cartoon for you to understand. But all I can say is: Tony you are my hero!

This has been a quite brief blog, I've just been out and about enjoying my holidays and getting a good work out!

Hime Ring #2 / Sweet nail maker!

I've been on a creating spree!!

Rummaged through my left over scrap pieces today. I picked up a few things and just from the top of my head came up with this:

(I tried to make my hand as feminine as possible!)

Materials and process:
Base - laces that have been sewed together at the ends then gathered at the center.
Pearl chain - First dab glue (hot glue gun) on the lace base, stick the middle of the pearl chain on first. While glue is about to set, fold the pearls over to look like a bow (cross over). Seal with another dab of glue.
Flower (left over from 'hime mirror make-over') - just dab glue and stick!!

When all is done, glue onto ring!!!

Onee/Hime zip pouch

Looked everywhere in the fabric store for cream velour fabric but they didn't have any. So, I was stuck with black!

Improvised with gold features and iron on Swarovski gems. Not bad!

Took approximately 1 hour to do. All done from scratch using an already made zip pouch as a visual template.

Video is for those who are confident in sewing as it is quite brief.

I'm going to try and avoid too many party blogs unless there is a great story that goes with it!! Hehe!!

But just one last one!

Saturday night was Jimmy and Tommy's 21st. The bar was pack full of asians everywhere. We couldn't move! But I saw a lot of my old friends that I haven't seen in so long! But basically all of Adelaide's asians were there!

We didn't stay very long, it was really uncomfortable having people push about; you won't believe how crowded it was! Apparently 200 people were there! And they only booked the place for 50 people!! Their fault for inviting ALL their facebook friends!! Haha!!

Highlight of the night, after the boys (incuding our new friends Duy and Long) had too many again （＾＾）Y☆Y(＾^ ）: we were ready to go home but there were 6 people to one sedan (5 seater). Long offered to hide in the boot in case I got pulled over for a 'breatho' and we get busted with a packed out car. It was the best part of the night!! I was swerving about to scare Long and he was squealing like a little girl! Then Tony was telling everyone about how I put on fake nails for the party and how long they were, then a voice from the boot interrupts saying, "HEY! I heard my name! Thats my name!!!!"

Guess you should have been there...

We used Baby Shampoo and they smell so sweet!! While we were drying Sooky with the towel we left Soap all snug in a mini towel cave and she looked like a fat white fluffball with two googly eyes!!!!!!!!!!! *melts*

Now everytime I open the outdoor hut, all I smell is the lovely baby-guinea pig smell. Its so cute! And they're both so soft and cuddly!!

Also I stayed back after church to help some ladies sew costumes for the Sunday school Christmas play.

The patterns were already cut out. As I sewed the cow costume together, I realised how much it looked like the gyaru kigurumi 'pajama'!

The final product was exactly a mini version of these cow ones:

I know the patterns for making them, so now I will give it a go (on a much larger scale)!

So, my next project could possibly be to make a KIGURUMI! Don't know what animal or character to do... maybe one of my pets?

Lowriders are so versatile; you can ride as a geek or a thug. Love that old school stuff!

I've been wanting a lowrider for 3 years now, I only found out recently that you have to build your own! I remember seeing one in DaKlinic those years ago but it wasn't my kind of colour. I guess they do sell some in stores, but they're very plain? Lowriders are like import cars; they need customising!

Mmm... high handles and low seat; lean back and ride with style! Not to mention saving on fuel and helping the environment!!

As for b-gyaru style, the closest I've found to that style are all the 'dancehall queens' of Japan. They're clothes are sometimes b-gyaru! But they don't wear it to hip hop, they wear it when they dance to reggae ton music... Most times they just dance in g-strings and skank clothes =/

I'm quite fascinated by how they move with the music... but its kinda... skanky...

Hime Kitty Hat

So the story of the Accidental Hime Kitty Hat:

I started out by making Hime Christmas hats. I realised, when I finished, that the fur was sewn on backwards. Giving a biiiiiggg sigh, I cut the fur off because it was too cute to throw away.

From that fur, I decided to make a concept Hime pencil case.

Unfortunately, my pens and other stationary did not fit. (Please refer to above picture)

At that very moment, Bebe struts onto the cat mat laying beside the dining table (on which the sewing machine was placed). Alice begins to play with him. I look at Bebe and throw the 'concept Hime case' onto him and say, "Here! Play with this!" Watching it sit on Bebe's belly, I began to think, "That looks really cute on him..." I pause. "ON him!"

And may I please introduce to you the Accidental Hime Kitty Hat!!

And the ever so loveable-movie-star-wannabe-deformed-leg BEBE!!

I thought he would have thrown the hat off, but I think he secretly enjoyed wearing it... He was so still during the whole 'photography session'. I think he's gay...

Kenny on the other had went spastic and when we did manage to get it stuck to his head, he curled up and froze till we took it off! Such a baby ^_____^"

How to make:
Its so simple. Its just two rectangle pieces of fabric joined at both sides and the top. Leave the bottom side open for your cats head.

Current measurements:
18cm (7 inches) wide and 8 cm (3 inches) high
Don't forget to leave and extra 1cm for sewing/joining

Eyelash Money

Wednesday, 5th November

Spent the night grafting eyelash extensions onto my sister's already long lashes +_+ she bought a kit for $25 and it came with 3 tubs; each with different lengths of little artificial lashes inside. I can see now why they charge so much to get it done professionally. Oh gosh, my back is aching from arching over; my eyes are blurred from squinting and at some point I couldn't tell which lash I was up too URGH!! Those things are so tiny and flimsy!! But there was a dramatic difference, her lashes were like camel lashes (hehe Alice the camel song!!); thick and long! I just hope she doesn't ask me to do them again when they fall out (6 weeks apparently).

If you are wondering if I'm going to give it a go... noooooo way!!!! I don't think it would make a difference to me and I'm scared of getting stabbed in the eyes with those pointy tweezers.

I've figured out how I am going to spend my $300 (plus the pay I get for this month)! Christmas gifts!! Going to spoil my family this year and of course especially my boyfriend!! Better start early though, Christmas shopping stresses me out and people are really rude during those times. I get knocked around because I'm so little and they don't see me =(

Himehood Ring

I know for a fact that Hime style rings (and I mean the extravagant ones) are not sold where I live. And I have yet to see an online shop selling them. The closest I could get to those pretty rings were the first few shown in my video. So, why not make it?? I cannot believe how simple it is!! Plus, I did it all wearing my fake nails haha!!

Before you look at the pictures, I'd like to say they would look better with the full Hime Gyaru dress-up!!

The plain rings I got were close to $4 for a pack of three!! If you don't want to spend that much then you can always pull apart an old ring or decorate on top of it.

I was browsing the net for any mirror that had been decorated as Hime style, but I couldn't find any (that's why I had to design my own with no template). I did, however, come across many many many phone decor sites!!

This link I'm going to show you girls is mainly made up of gems and diamante. I personally prefer fabric decor like lace and ribbons (and a touch of pearl) because they look softer and sweeter. Although, I like looking at gems and such; it gives the owner an almost 'rich' image!!

Speaking of decoration and mirrors and such, I came across this video the other day where this person... Erm... how would I explain this... a 'boygirl'? Well, basically a man who changed to woman!! He looks like a girl, the give away is when he opens his mouth and out comes this hideous man voice!

Anyway!! I will call him the himeboygirl! This himeboygirl was one of the hosts on this Japanese TV show and had a chance to get a hime room makeover!! They called in this woman who was famous for decorating girl's rooms and specialized in hime style. She was this editor of a popular home style magazine.

The result was sooo beautiful!! Heavy felt curtains and a double hime bed filled with soft coloured cushions! An elegant gold framed mirror and everything was pink! Then they decorated his/her walk-in wardrobe and turned it into a dressing room with studio dressing table completed with lighted mirror!!

I wish I could find the video again so I can link you girls!! I got a little jealous of the himeboygirl because he/she got it all for free and they basically cleaned and organised his/her room and turned it into such a sweet girly room!! *Still browsing hoping to find the link!!*

For a long while now I've been watching the Tokyo Kawaii TV series on Veoh. Its the perfect television show for anything cute and girly. Every episode has girly dressed up girls and some gyarus. Its all inspiration for me! Oh, and the host is so pretty (the female one that is)!!

If there was a DVD, I'd buy it right away to keep forever!! I'm sure not all the episodes are up and the videos on the net may be removed due to copyright infringement. So, watch it while its up!!

Pretty Mirror

Inspired once again, I decided to spruce up my boring door mirror!!

Because I'm not a big fan of gems and diamante, I chucked a whole bunch of my favourite lace and ribbons (I even put roses!!) onto my mirror!! Is it still considered 'deco-den'??

Dye or Wig?

I am happy with my natural look and hair colour, but sometimes a little change can help add mixture and interest to my outfits.

I've thought constantly of dying my hair a dark brown or brunette colour.

I became inspired when I saw this really pretty asian (looked Japanese... yet Chinese at the same time) girl in town pull off the medium brown hair really well with her dress. I wanted to look exactly like her... only my hair wasn't long enough =(

The only thing that puts me off is the regrowth. Its like, you dye your hair and you look great for a month or two, and there it is... that hideous black patch crawling out of your head!! Then you have to dye it over again or just grow it out =S And if you want to dye it back to black, you'd look emo +_+ TROUBLESOME!!

Well, browsing through Himeka Shirosaki's blog today, I realised that her always amazing hair is actually a bunch of wigs!!

WOW! All this time I just thought she was just rich enough to keep her regrowth up to date with all those hair dyes. And add and remove hair extensions at will. I never realised they were different lengths and shades till I saw that picture on her page!!

Lucky girl!! Gets to change her look as easily as she wants! Its kinda inspiring me to buy a few wigs hehe!! Not blonde ones of course! But it would be great if I didn't have to spend all that time damaging my already crappy hair with hair straighteners and products! Just tie it in a bun and whack on an already styled wig! YAY!

Now, there is still a bottle of brunette hair dye still in my room, its been there for 3 months now... I hope it hasn't expired =S Oh geez, I am so lazy!

Probably go wig shopping sometime soon and lucky I ran into a really reliable place that is full of real hair wigs recently!!

Was super bored today, so I made a tiny bow and put double sided sticky tape on it; grabbed Soap and stuck it on her head ^_^!!

My sister and I went back to Port Adelaide market to visit Yukie again, we bought some more stuff because we just love her works and we want to support her so she won't stop!!

I bought $30 worth of nail stuff (bargain!!) and Yukie gave my sister and I a free compact mirror each!!

You all may think I look up to Hime Gyaru models or just any famous Gyarus but I only like their fashion.

One Japanese person I look up to most (only cos I'd admire her sooo much and want to be like her) is Gal Sone!!

OMG, she is my ultimate idol!! So funny on talk shows and just being herself!! She is sooo cute!! And so slim considering she is an eating champion!! YES! She enters eating competitions against many other eaters (women and men) and most times beats them!! She could eat a bowl of rice with sides the size of your arms in a cirlce (bad description... imagine hugging an invisible tree, that circle you just made with your arm is the size I am talking about!!)

Her fashion style (before she started singing that it, I will explain further down) is what I LOVEEE!! It just casual, subtle gyaru fashion... just cute and simple ^_^ (You guys have noticed my fashion is not overdone)

I remember the first time I was introduced to her back in 2007. My friend sent me a link to a video about some 'cute Japanese girl' he thought I would find interesting. I opened it and there she was! So tiny and dressed up, looking like a typical Gyaru! Waving her hand peace signs about and being so polite. Then they take her into a restaurant and order a LARGE plate of something I don't actually remember... but I watched her eat it all!! Including a sundae as the height up to my shoulders!! +_+ And she wasn't even feeling bloated O.o!! I was hooked since then!!

Another video I saw was her in a noodle eating competition, she ate like 15 bowls and was far ahead! She even had time to check herself in the mirror and wipe of the sweat off her face and fix her makeup!!

Why Sonene? I am obessed with food!! All through high school all I would think/talk about was food hahaha "Whens lunch?" "OMG! Can I have some?" *Eyes canteen* *stomach grumbles* Ask my boyfriend! Everytime we go out I am always suggesting to eat sushi or chocolate mousse mmmm.... But I haven't been dancing lately so I haven't been burning all the food I have taken in... its starting to show!! EEP!!

Anyway, she is also a member of the new singing group Gyaruru, personally, I do not like their music... I miss the old Gal Sone... I liked her before she joined the group... and since she joined, her fashion has started to look to bold and less casual. =/

I will always be a fan of her casual fashion, eating habits and lovable personality!!
